Donna Amos
Arthritis Foundation Certified Instructor

Hello, my name is Donna Amos. I have been the Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program Instructor her for over thirteen years.  I have also been a patient here under our Physical Therapy Department for longer than that.  Why would I need to be a patient here you might ask?  For the last thirty-three years I have dealt with the effects of Rheumatoid Arthritis.  This has given me the ability to understand what our members and patients are going through as they strive to improve their quality of life.  And that’s exactly what they are doing, going forward not stopping and letting life circumstances and trials have control.  To me they are a special group of people, truly the “cream of the crop.”  If you want to experience the difference being a Wellness Member here at The Cantrell Center can make, don’t wait, now is the time to take control.  You Can Do It!!

The Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program is a recreational exercise program designed to accommodate the abilities of individuals with arthritis and related disease (each person exercises at their own pace).

” Every day my arms and legs get stronger and my stamina is increasing.  My knees do not hurt as much, and now I can get up from a chair, usually at the first try!  An interesting side-effect is that I have started enjoying exercise.  I used to avoid exercising and would find an excuse not to do it.  Now I look forward to my sessions in the pool with you.  I don’t think in terms of “how much longer do I have to do this”!  I have decided that I will exercise for the rest of my life. ”
