Physical Therapy

What is Physical Therapy?

...One great answer to this question can be found at the official website of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Doctors send people to physical therapy for a reason: They already know that most health issues benefit from conservative management. That's where physical therapy comes in. In fact, more than 750,000 people a day in the United Staes are referred to physical therapy.

Physical Therapy is called an "Allied Health Profession." Like nursing, occupational therapy, and speech therapy... we are all "allies" of the doctor and are recognized as such by the American Medical Association. Some of the specific areas of treatment covered by physical therapy can be found below:

  • General Health
  • Women's Health
